Role: Specialist & Homecare Nurse

Location: London

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Reports to: Clinical Manager

Main duties of a Specialist & Homecare Nurse:

The main duties of a Specialist & Homecare Nurse are to work in this well known prestigious Private Healthcare Company, treating patients and delivering a high standard of patient care and carrying out specific oncology duties as required. As part of this you will:

  • Carry out clinical assessment of patients needs
  • Provide on-going support to patients through both support programmes and home visits where necessary
  • Complete a clinical evaluation form following each patient contract
  • Asses patients home environment to ensure it is suitable for home IV oncology treatment
  • Complete care for all IV oncology patients, making sure all lines are clean
  • Administer all IV oncology patients medications for all patients who are undergoing IV cancer treatment
  • Check blood results and make decisions on whether the levels are critical or if it is safe to continue treatment
  • Complete blood transfusions with patients or arrange a qualified nurse that is suitable to visit patients and carry this out
